A theme that has impacted my artistic practice is the Spectral Light of Elements of the Periodic Table.
The SPECTRAL LIGHT OF ELEMENTS is a distinct set of lights that represent each element of the periodic table, like a thumbprint of the elements. There are not two sets alike. It’s a way to identify elements of distant objects. This is how scientist can tell what Jupiter is made of, or how hot stars are, or how far Saturn is.
In my process, I investigate the emission spectra of an element and then use those colors, in tints and shades to create geometric abstractions.
